Dr. S. Alex Stalcup MD

Dr. S. Alex Stalcup is a graduate of Whittier College and a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics, and in Addiction Medicine. He is certified as a Medical Review Officer by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (A.S.A.M.). In 1990, after three years as Medical Director Medical Director, Drug Detoxification, Treatment & Aftercare Project, Haight Ashbury Free Clinic in San Francisco, Dr. Stalcup opened a private practice in addiction medicine. Since 1996, he has served as the Medical Director of the New Leaf Treatment Center in Lafayette, California.

Janice Stalcup, B.S.N., Dr.P.H.

Janice Stalcup graduated from Vanderbilt University with a baccalaureate degree in nursing. She holds advanced degrees in maternal and child nursing (MSN) from the University of California, San Francisco, and in public health (MPH, DrPH) from Columbia University. Dr. Stalcup has served as the Clinical Director and CEO of New Leaf Treatment Center, for ten years. Her initial training in substance abuse was at the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic, Drug Detoxification unit, where she was a volunteer counselor (1988-1990), and with Rock Medicine (1988-1990). Since 1990 Dr. Stalcup has worked professionally in the private sector. Since 1996 she has been a Sec 730 expert in substance abuse for the Contra Costa Family Court.
