Dr. S. Alex Stalcup MD

Dr. S. Alex Stalcup is a graduate of Whittier College and a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine.

He is Board Certified in Pediatrics, and in Addiction Medicine. He is certified as a Medical Review Officer by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (A.S.A.M.).

In 1990, after three years as Medical Director Medical Director, Drug Detoxification, Treatment & Aftercare Project, Haight Ashbury Free Clinics in San Francisco, Dr. Stalcup opened a private practice in addiction medicine.

Since 1996, he has served as the Medical Director of the New Leaf Treatment Center in Lafayette, California.

Gantt Galloway, Pharm.D.

Dr. Gantt Galloway attended Reed College and the University of California Berkeley. He received his doctorate in pharmacy from the University of California San Francisco and residency training at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Martinez.

Dr. Galloway was employed by the Drug Detoxification, Rehabilitation & Aftercare Project of the Haight Ashbury Free Clinics from 1989-2005 and served as Chief of Pharmacologic Research. He has provided expert testimony in state and federal court proceedings since 1991. He is a Senior Scientist at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute in its Addiction & Pharmacology Research Laboratory and is a member of the faculty of the University of California San Francisco.

Dr. Galloway has received grants and contracts to study medications and psychosocial treatments for addiction to methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and alcohol. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles in medical journals.

In 1996 Dr. Galloway co-founded New Leaf Treatment Center and currently serves as its Research and Executive Director.
